Hi and thanks for dropping by my blog. You might have asked yourself who is the guy 
who’s had all these Japanese learning troubles…and then finally SUCCESS!
Well my name is Rob Maddison and I am 34 years old. Some of my most memorable and fun times I had was when I lived and worked as an English teacher in Japan. Yes, that’s right, me the struggling Japanese language student actually taught English in Japan. Funny how things can turn round so fast with a big confidence boost…language skills in my case!
I lived and worked in Tokyo and really enjoyed the culture. It was expensive, however, my Japanese came in really handy for finding bargains and where the locals shopped for much much cheaper prices. Actually the Japanese are very friendly and I had a lot of fun with them…did you know they are very approachable and always up for a laugh!
Anyway I worked one year in Japan and I really miss it. My Japanese language skills are getting a little rusty so I’ll probably do the Rocket Japanese course again sometime in the near future. Now I am back home I will need to practise on Japanese tourists, although, their spoken English (reading English is great) is usually quite poor and therefore I am usually able to help them out with a small problem such as finding places on a map. I must admit it’s a real buzz for me!!!
